Join Our Team

We have many areas where you can grow your talents and build your skills that adds to our community, helps youth prepare for life in the real world, and just give you a chance to get out of the house and get involved. We offer positions where you can cook, bake, barista, handle books, keep things tidy and organized, help out with special events, and more. You can do these things as a volunteer (we are a 501(c)3, you know), as a trainee for school credit and resume-building, and of course, as an employee to help you build your career and pay the bills.

Find out more about joining our supportive team by filling out our mini-application form HERE. Or, if you KNOW you want to join our team, click one of the following articles to download a full application PDF for that position.

Volunteer

If you want to contribute your spare time to a community-based cause, consider volunteering for SW Commons. We have several areas where your contribution can be fun and fulfilling: besides barista, cooking, baking, or training our youth, we have needs in handling books, cleaning, helping with events and fundraiser, or even being on the board of directors. Any help you’re willing to offer, we’ll be happy to keep you involved in our fine community.

Trainee

As part of our mission, we work with local schools to provide students training in real-world business operations giving kids an opportunity to gain real-world, employable skills while earning school credits.

We offer training in kitchen skills, including knife skills, cooking, plating, following recipes; Department of Health safety skills; barista skills, POS and transaction skills; money skills; customer service skills; teamwork skills; and more. Most of which are useful in many different career paths, and being a trainee, it opens the doors for further work opportunities because you will have experience AND a reference.

Employee

If you already have some experience or skills in barista-ing, cooking, baking, or teaching others, and need to gain more experience or just make a living on the island, we have opportunities for you with flexible schedules.
